Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Poor Reflection (Mar 6th)

Hey everyone my bad I've skipped a few days! Sorry.
------------

This life is not all. It is an "unfinished symphony"....with him who knows that he is related to God and has felt "the power of an endless life".
~Henry Ward Beecher~

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
~1 Corinthians 13:12 (NIV)

Brit's 'put

Allot of people including myself have had to read this verse a few times over to understand it; it can be kind of confusing. It's kind of cool though because today in school (language arts) after reading "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder, I read this verse. I'll try and dissect if for you and let you know what I think....

Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror: right now we see but a poor reflection of what life is and how important it is – and also what a poor reflection this earth is compared to heaven.

Then we shall see face to face: when we see the Lord face to face (when we die)

Now I know in part, then I shall know fully: Now I only know part of it, but when I am with Him (dead) I shall know fully; I'll see the whole picture and understand how important the small things were

Even as I am fully known: even as God knows me fully and life fully

Right now we can't see clearly how important life really is; only after we've lost it will truly be able to see. But then we will be in a place so much better than here. So know that also this world is such a poor, poor reflection of what is to come.

Hopefully I explained that in a way that you can understand what I think...

Great IS Your faithfulness oh God! Thank you for Your compassion, love, and grace. In the middle of the storm I know You are there keeping me above the crashing waves even though it may seem like I'm going under. I will praise You and sing of your faithfulness in the rain and in the sun.

My dad has shared this quote before, I don't know if he came up with it or if he heard it somewhere I'll have to ask him later. Thought I'd share it with you, it goes to show that we do need rain, but God will be there through it all.

Brit's 'put

Hebrews 10:22-25 (NIV)
(22) let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. (23) Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (24) And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Reminder (Feb 18th)

Tuck [this] thought into your heart today. Treasure it. [Your Father God cares about your daily everythings that concern you.]
~Kay Arthur~

You saw how the Lord your God cared for you all along the way as you traveled through the wilderness, just as the father cares for his child.
Deuteronomy 1:31 (NLT)

Brit’s ‘put

We do serve a big God but He sees, hears, and knows all things. He cares about the big things and the small things. He cares about EVERYTHING that you go through from day to day. Just as a father listens to and cares about what his child does. Our Heavenly Father CARES. He really does! And I know that I for one am thankful for the reminder to remember that God cares about my daily everythings whether they be good or bad, frustrating or amazing, joyful or sad. I know I can go to Him whenever I want and talk to Him about it. He already knows, He’s ready, He’s waiting for me to come to Him. And He’s waiting for you.

Britney

Give Thanks (Feb 17th)

Stand outside this evening. Look at the stars. Know that you are special and loved by the One who created them.
~?~

Give thanks to the Lord because He is good. His love continues forever....He made the sun to rule the day....He made the moon and stars to rule the night. His love continues forever.
Psalm 136:1, 8-9 (NCV)

Brit's 'put <----(short for input)

On cloudy days we can't see the stars and it is very disappointing but when the night air is clear and you look up at the midnight sky. You wait for your eyes to focus and get used to the darkness and then the beautiful sight catches your breath. The sky isn’t just a plain black blanket it’s full off diamonds that are scattered from north to south and from east to west farther than the eye can see. When you see them remember that they are so far away from here and that the universe is so vast and so big and made perfectly by the One who loves us even though we are so small. Give thanks to the One who puts as much effort into making you special and unique as He did the stars and who loves you as far as the stars stretch from north to south and from east to west. Our Creator, our Lord.
